“Hakkar has been changed rather a lot from his previous incarnation. On the positive side, he’s now a somewhat interesting fight. On the negative side… I’m not sure how newer, non-obscenely-geared guilds are going to do on him. (Then again, we usually do these runs with 50% poorly geared alts or more, but still… he’s rough on the MT’s). First, though, an analysis of the other bosses and the changes there; Mar’li (Spider); Much, much, MUCH weaker. Spams the AoE Poison Bolt rather infrequently these days, so it’s easier on the healers and melee DPS can stay in longer. She also hits considerably weaker than she used to, which means she’ll not insta-gib casters when she wipes hate off the tank. She also seemed to have less HP than she used to. Thekal (Tiger, Tony the); Also seemed considerably weaker than he used to be. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still a hard fight, but his attacks hit for much less than they used to. Bloodlord (Raptor); Much harder than he used to be. Killing the raptor now triggers a 60-second buff that makes the Broodlord hit about twice as hard (our MT last night said he was getting hit for around 2,000 a hit, and he’s in nearly full BWL gear). wow gold Lesser geared guilds are going to have this equal death, both because of the increased damage and the fact that the healers are going to go OOM. (Possible solution; go get your ass beat by Broodlord and take the rez for full mana, but this can get kind of messy). You seem to be required now to offtank the Raptor, but this can get messy during a long fight since he puts out rather good DPS - also a strain on your healer’s mana. wow gold Arlokk (Panther); They put a cap on the number of spawns.
They should try and sustain themselves solo for as long as possible (Healing Potion, Lifestone, AB trinket) and if they have decent gear they should be lasting on their own well enough to toss them an occassional HoT once you’re near the spawn cap (spamming Demo Shout and Shield Block works to hold aggro). Green Whelp still works, and it’s quite easy to get, so for the time being feel free to grab two for your tanks and let them have some fun. world of warcraft gold Arlokk herself appears to hit for less, so she’ll no longer come out of Stealth and insta-gib casters… at least from what I saw in my little hidey-hole. Keep in mind that aggro needs to be kept under control here in regards to your DPS, as otherwise you’re going to pull hate off the tanks who can only build aggro 50% of the time (Hakkar is untauntable).
